Good morning colleagues,
We have a donor that would like to establish a scholarship with the following parameters: must be a student who has an illness or is taking care of a family member with an illness; the student must be able to show proof of need and who has the illness; the award can be used to assist with food, housing, clothing, transportation, school items, medicine or copays for doctor visits.
Due to the sensitive nature of the information students will have to submit in order to comply with the criteria, not to mention HIPAA, I am not certain that this is an agreement we should enter into.
Has anyone faced a situation like this? I would also like to hear responses on how you would handle this request.
