In the event of weather-related issues requiring UNC System Office remote access, IT wanted to share the following information:

Generally speaking, the login experience for all applications from the web has unified into a single workflow regardless of which application is being accessed. That includes the following:

  • Office365 Applications
  • Sharefile (https://uncsystem.sharefile.com)
  • VMware View (https://view.northcarolina.edu)
    • For existing daily users, they can continue to use the application.
    • For new “Emergency” Users, they can go to that URL, click “VMware Horizon HTML Access”.
      • This will take them to a login prompt where they can enter their UserName and Password. Be advised that it says “Passcode” and means “Password”.
      • They will then be prompted for the DUO 2FA. They can then select their preferred method. This is identical to the 2FA workflow for webmail and Sharefile.
  • MyApps for other applications and services (https://myapps.northcarolina.edu/)

In all cases, you will be presented with a normal Username/Password screen, and then a follow-up Duo Prompt screen.  The user will be prompted for login and Duo authentication if their session ends for any of these applications.
