Please see the message below and attached regarding Women’s Equality Day.

Governor Cooper has proclaimed August 26, 2019 as Women’s Equality Day.  Women’s Equality Day commemorates the passage of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution granting women the right to vote. This day also calls attention to women’s continuing efforts toward full equality. The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment. As part of a national campaign to commemorate this date, North Carolina’s Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is coordinating a campaign titled “She Changed the World: NC Women Breaking Barriers,” with statewide programming running from March 2019 through November 2020!  The Kick off event will be on September 7, 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm at the NC State Capitol.
