By now, I am sure you have all heard the news about the tragic incident that occurred yesterday evening at UNC Charlotte.
Active shooting incidents such as this occur far too often these days, but this is especially and deeply troubling when it hits so close to home for us here in the UNC System. I spoke with Gary Stinnett late yesterday and have already offered our assistance as he and his team work to support faculty and staff who we know will be profoundly impacted by this incident.
Please keep our UNC Charlotte colleagues in your thoughts. This will be a difficult time for them, but I am confident that the campus is resilient and the community will come together to heal and recover from this incident.
I know the campus HR team will play a key role in the recovery from this incident and we will do all we can to support them in this important work.
