Reviewing your next few check stubs is vital! Please make sure your January 2024 State Health Plan insurance deductions are correct. Also, be on the look-out for new benefits and possible premium changes regarding certain NCFlex and University benefits in your January 2024 check.
State Health Plan (SHP) Premium Deductions
Your benefit election made during Open Enrollment for the SHP becomes effective Jan. 1, 2024. However, the deduction begins with your December 2023 check(s). Make sure your SHP deduction matches the plan you’ve chosen. If you’ve elected the Enhanced PPO Plan (80/20) in 2023 and neglected to re-enroll, then your coverage has shifted to the Base PPO Plan (70/20) for 2024. Therefore, you will see a difference in the premium amount deducted from your December check.
NCFLEX and University Benefits Premium Deductions

Biweekly employees will see these deductions in their Jan. 12, 2024, check and it will occur in the Jan. 31, 2024, check for monthly employees.
