Attachment: Authorized PRISM Users Submission Form

System Office staff will host three virtual training sessions in preparation for the launch of PRISM: Position Request and Integrated Salary Management — the new portal for classification and compensation requests requiring System Office review. All staff who will interact with the new system by submitting or editing actions, corresponding with System Office, or who may require visibility on pending actions should plan to attend one of these sessions.

In addition, CHROs are asked to submit a list of approved users from their institution who will be granted access to the new system.  Please use the attached spreadsheet as a template and return a completed copy to dtmorris@northcarolina.edu and rxdunton@northcarolina.edu no later than Friday, Sept. 19.  Note that individuals who are not authorized by that date may experience a delay in their ability to access PRISM.

We have scheduled three separate orientation sessions to accommodate busy schedules and will plan for additional opportunities for discussion and feedback following launch. Users are only asked to attend one of the sessions. The links to each of the respective meeting times listed below will open the corresponding MS Teams meeting.  Please share these meeting times and access instructions with your classification and compensation, recruitment, or salary administration staff members who will use PRISM to interact with the System Office.

PRISM is a new system for class and comp actions that will take the place of the existing Comp Database, beginning Oct. 1. After a brief delay, we are excited to launch a new web-based tool for managing position and salary actions. PRISM stands for Position Request and Integrated Salary Management and will serve as the submission and management portal for all HR requests and actions requiring System Office review and approval, including position creation and reclassification, temporary and permanent salary adjustments, faculty recruitment and retention fund requests, and SAAO/key non-SAAO recruitment notifications.

Please SAVE THE DATE for required training in advance of the launch date. We have scheduled 3 separate orientation sessions to accommodate busy schedules and will plan for additional opportunities for discussion and feedback following launch. Users are only asked to attend one of the sessions. Additional information on registration for these virtual workshops will be shared soon.

  • Option 1: Monday, Sept. 22, from 1 – 2 p.m.
  • Option 2: Thursday, Sept. 25, from 3 – 4 p.m.
  • Option 3: Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 9 – 10 a.m.

Following the launch of the PRISM system later this fall, we will begin a transitional period with phased sunsetting of the existing Comp Database. Plans are in process to archive data captured in the current database.
