Round of Applause: Daniel Sater
Daniel provided a “better mouse-trap” when I was working to use data from one spreadsheet to provide expenditure numbers on another. His Excel expertise provided a much simpler solution than I had considered and will allow us to routinely update capital project expenditure information in an automated way. A big improvement over our previous slow, laborious, manual look-up process, and all I did was ask a question! Thank you Daniel!

Round of Applause: Jack Ware
Jack has been very helpful making sure I had access to all my work files while working remote. He not only answered my questions and helped make sure I was connected, he proactively reached out to me to make sure that I was not having any problems. Due to his help and planning for this situation, I had no issues! I appreciate his kindness and customer service to go above and beyond!

Round of Applause: Ulisa Bowles
A parent of a rising high school senior called the front desk with questions about the changes made in the May 2024 BOG meeting. She shared that her child will be graduating from early college in Greensboro in spring 2025 and she wasn’t sure if her daughter would be considered a rising freshman or a transfer student. Ulisa called the parent and explained the changes. During the call she learned more about the daughter’s interest in 3 of our campuses. Ulisa connected the student with the three campuses and helped her make connections at each institution. The mother shared the following: “Thank you for taking the time to speak to me in the car and this morning for your kind email. Every word and advice you have given to us will not be taken lightly.”
Kudos to Ulisa for taking the time to talk with this family and helping connect the student with her top schools!

Melinda is patient, kind, and resourceful. Her levels of professional expertise and customer service are very much appreciated. She never hesitates to quickly identify how she can help support her colleagues. She is very responsive and works so hard to ensure we receive timely assistance. When new issues are experienced, she is thoughtful in tackling a solution, troubleshooting in real time.

Round of Applause: Edward Pickett
Edward Pickett is a wonderful manager. He continuously assists our team on many of our day-to-day issues and projects even when I know he really doesn’t have time. He is one of the hardest working individuals I know. I appreciate him and and his continued support to all of our team members and the way he always puts everyone else’s needs in front of his own. Edward would be a wonderful recipient of this recognition!

Round of Applause: Ruth Brill
Ruth is a great example of what quiet, gracious, and dedicated service looks like. My first interaction with Ruth was during a large training event we hosted in the System Office for our UNC faculty and staff. For many days, she graciously – and without acknowledgement – helped with caterers and vendors who were arriving for the event (even though the event wasn’t for her department and she wasn’t even asked to help). Ruth has a quiet and mighty spirit of service and I’m quite thankful!

Round of Applause: Christopher Richardson
Chris has always and continues to provide outstanding customer service. Most recently, Chris was able to understand, troubleshoot, and was diligent in resolving my printer(s) issues. His resolution to my issues will be a tremendous frustration relief when the time rolls around for the July BOG meeting as well as future ones. His dedication to serving our office deserves a huge Round of Applause…Thank you so much and you are appreciated, Chris! Kudos to you!

Round of Applause: Preksha Patel
Preksha Patel has been invaluable during the Office of Sponsored Programs aging clean-up process. She has helped us complete the necessary steps to resolve invalid invoices dating back to 2015. She completed the process within a month and during the beginning of year end closeout. The process could not have been completed without Preksha! Thank you, Preksha!
