Round of Applause: Terrence Ishmael
Terrence is leaving us for another shade of blue (UNC-CH) but we are so grateful for all his expertise and guidance in supporting our managers and employees through employee relations matters. His compassion, wisdom, and kindness will be missed. We should all look to lead with a little Terrence in us these days! Thank you for your dedication and service to the UNC System, Terrence, and to this country!

Round of Applause: Chris Richardson
Chris is GREAT at his job! He is always very patient with me. I had an issue while working from home and he immediately came to the rescue! He went above and beyond to troubleshoot this error. Its a great feeling to know when you are working against hard deadlines and run into an issue that there is someone in IT that is more than willing to give you a helping hand.. Even if sometimes it’s user error. 🙂

Ed has been very helpful – whenever I have a question or run across any problem with the system — I can reach out to him at any time and he has guided me safely thru each and every issue that has come my way — I know I say I appreciate your help and support — I really do and thank you again Ed.

Round of Applause: Owen Cooks
Owen has undertaken an extremely complicated project and won friends across the System while figuring things out. He is inclusive and always ready to lend a hand. His professionalism is well respected, and Academic Affairs wants to give him a shout out for being such a top notch colleague.

Round of Applause: Valerie Crickard
I’d like to give a Round of Applause to Valerie Crickard who was quite helpful in helping our team review the budget for a service contract agreement. She astutely identified that the vendor was using the wrong indirect cost recovery rate. (She even found the correct rate on the vendor’s own website!) That helped us go back and negotiate a better rate and saved us ~$40K on our program budget. I appreciate her diligence and care and going the extra step to help our team. It was greatly appreciated!

Round of Applause: Tio Jones
Tio is a wonderful colleague! We needed his support and his perseverance was top notch. He could have easily said that the task was not possible, but he worked with us to completely understand the entire issue and found a solution prior to our deadline. Thank you, Tio!!

Round of Applause: Kait Littell
Kait is a ray of sunshine and steady support! She provides top-notch support to the entire Strategy & Policy team in so many areas, with a smile and positive, professional attitude. Recently, she has helped me with several Concur travel requests and reports. I find the system to be very counter-intuitive and challenging to use, but Kait patiently held my hand through each and every step of the process to get things corrected and submitted. She changed a very frustrating experience into a much more pleasant one! This is just one of many things Kait does on a daily basis to keep our team in action and able to advance work that supports the University’s mission!

Round of Applause: Fred Sellers
Mr. Sellers is consistently supportive of anyone who asks. During the past month, he has met with students and Chiefs of Police from each campus in meetings coordinated by ASG. Through these meetings, communication and relationships between campus police and students have grown. In addition, he has taken time to meet with Student Government Association Advisors to address questions around safety and security. These meetings are not something he has to do, but show his dedication and willingness to provide support.

Round of Applause: Kyiah Telfair
I’d like to recognize Kyiah Telfair this week for her quick response and great attitude in a time of change and disruption in the HR space, she’s showing up and delivering on what is asked of her but also providing new solutions. Thanks so much Kyiah – I’m so glad we will get to work together more in this new capacity!
