Dear LMS Administrators,
We’re excited to share with you OSBM’s plan for the rollout of BRIDGE training, launching this August and September! As an important part of training operations at your agency or university, we wanted you to be among the first to know the plan.
What is BRIDGE?
BRIDGE is the new budget management system developed by the Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) to streamline and modernize state budgeting processes. Training is designed to equip state budget staff with the skills needed to navigate in BRIDGE, submit Base Budget adjustments, and view budget reports.
Who Needs Training?
Current users of IBIS, the state’s existing budget management system, will be required to attend training. Agency or university CFOs may request a waiver for individual employees for situations in which a user cannot participate in BRIDGE training.
When Does Training Start?
Training begins in August 2026 and continues through September, with sessions offered Monday through Thursday. Classes are available both in-person and virtually to accommodate users.
BRIDGE will go live in mid-September and we expect users will take the training before the system is live.
What Are the Three Required Classes?
- Introduction to OSBM BRIDGE (30 minutes)
- Overview of BRIDGE, its uses, and navigation
- This class will be on-demand, web-based training in the state Learning Management System (LMS)
- This class is a pre-requisite for the other two classes
- Base Budget Creation & Adjustment (3.5 hours)
- Reviewing, creating, and submitting base budget adjustments and fund purpose statements
- Completing approvals and final reporting
- Budget Reporting for Users (2 hours)
- Accessing and analyzing reports in BRIDGE using Smart View
How Do Users Register for Training?
- Registration is through the state LMS (Learning Management System).
- Once logged into the LMS, users will be able to search for the course title and register. Instructions for registering will be provided to users.
- For users who do not use the state LMS, such as university budget staff, OSBM will be providing login access to the users who are required to take training.
How Will Users Learn About the Training?
OSBM provides frequent email updates about BRIDGE to CFOs and current IBIS users. Information on training will be part of these updates. Anyone can sign up to receive these updates if you would like to learn more.
Users who need additional assistance with the BRIDGE platform can submit a Help Desk ticket to IBIS. Users with questions or concerns about BRIDGE training should use this Help Desk system.
How Can We Help You?
As the training progresses this fall we will provide you a monthly update to follow up on this email.
Please reach out if you have questions or need additional information. We look forward to working together to make this rollout a success.
