UNC-Chapel Hill
Propel The World
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Teaching Fellows Program Pillars: Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Equity and Diversity, Experiential Education, and Educator Leadership, guide the development of a Teaching Fellows Community of Learners. Students learn and reflect collaboratively through coursework, clinical experiences, experiential learning, community service, and professional development. The four pillars are interwoven throughout coursework, clinical experiences, enrichment activities, and other opportunities to emphasize critical themes essential to becoming a teacher and leader.
<h4Campus Enrichment Overview
Our enrichment opportunities focus around the four UNC-CH Teaching Fellows Pillars. Each academic year our program chooses a central theme from within these pillars to provide a seminar series allowing students to learn from and interact with educational experts. We also take fieldtrips to model classrooms allowing students to see effective teaching in action. Furthermore, our students have multiple opportunities to engage in experiential learning through on– and off-campus Maker Space studios, Outward Bound, and the Durham County Schools Hub Farm. These are just some of the many opportunities available to our UNC Teaching Fellows Community of Learners.
