Degree Pathways
For High School, Transfer Students and Current NC State Students
These programs lead to a bachelor’s degree and prepare you for a teaching license:
- Mathematics Education (Grades 6-9 or 9-12)
- Technology, Engineering, and Design (Grades 6-9 or 9-12)
- Science Education (Grades 6-9 or 9-12)
- Agricultural Education (Grades 6-12)
- Elementary Education with Special Education Dual Licensure (Grades K-12)
For Individuals with a Bachelor’s Degree
These part-time or full-time, accelerated programs lead to a Master of Arts in Teaching and an initial teaching license:
- Technology, Engineering, and Design (Grades 6-12)
- Mathematics Education (Grades 6-9 or 9-12)
- Science Education (Grades 6-9 or 9-12)
- Special Education (Grades K-12)
For Mid-Career Professionals with a Bachelor’s Degree
These alternative licensure programs prepare mid-career professionals to become licensed teachers through our NC TEACH or Pathway to Practice:
- Math (Grades 6-9 or 9-12)
- Science (Grades 6-9 or 9-12)
- Special Education (Grades K-12)
- Technology, Engineering, and Design (Grades 6-12)
* The STEM-focused elementary education degree (Grades K-6) does not qualify for the Teaching Fellows Program.
