Now that the System Office has been in The Dillon for several months, the COO’s office has updated several policies to reflect experience with the new rhythms of this work environment. All System Office staff should review the revised procedures, even if you work remotely, as they may have an effect on your future office visits.

  • System Office Facility Use Policy: For logistical reasons and space limitations, only meetings associated with the Board of Governors, a System Office affinity group such as the Staff Assembly, or events sponsored and directly related to System Office staff can be held. In addition, Room 1723 (the Board Room), Room 1809, and the open spaces on the 17th and 18th floors will now be scheduled centrally. The Board Room should be used for large events as often as possible.
  • System Office Visitor Policy: All guests should be signed in at the reception desk on the 18th floor, either in advance or upon arrival. System Office staff are responsible for ensuring that guests are met on the 9th floor or at the elevators on 18. The office manager can be requested to allow guests onto the 18th floor from the elevator lobby if notified no later than the day prior to the meeting.
  • System Office Parking Policy: As a reminder, executive assistants in each division, as well as the office manager, are available to validate parking for guests and staff who are onsite fewer than three days per week. Campus visitors should not generally be validated. If the campus visitor is traveling for work, then they should include parking as part of their campus reimbursement request.

These policies and other helpful information about working at The Dillon are available from the Working in Raleigh page of the System Office staff portal. If you have questions, email officemanager@northcarolina.edu.
