Insight Community, as you may recall from our discussion during our Feb 14 monthly community call, we agreed to a pair of outages to upgrade the Tableau server in Insight:
- Feb 14: in the evening Insight was unavailable in order to upgrade the operating system underlying the Tableau server software stack to Windows 2019. This proceeded as expected with little impact, however if you’re experiencing any subsequent anomalies, please email insight@northcarolina.edu to open a ticket.
- Feb 29: during the entire day Insight will be unavailable to upgrade the Tableau server to release 2019.4 from the current release of 2018.3. An entire day is required in order to perform backups, installations, and verification testing.
It’s time, as it has been about one year since the previous Tableau server upgrade. If you’d like to learn more about the changes, see the feature descriptions in each intervening release: 2019.1, 2019.2, 2019.3, 2019.4.
