The data that UNC submits to IPEDS is now available through Insight in the AWS Redshift environment. There are new tables in the third_party_data schema following the format: ipeds_submissions_{submission file name and year}

To assist with blending to existing IPEDS reporting tables and views, we have also created a series of views in the third_party_data schema:

  • ipeds_submissions_{submission file name}: These views union all the yearly submission files together into one view
  • admyyyy, cyyyya, cyyy_b, effyyyyy, etc: These views convert the submission file format to the IPEDS reporting format.
  • sub_ipeds_{name} : The goal of this view is to pivot certain columns for improved ease of reporting on IPEDS Submission Data. They should match the ipeds_{name} IPEDS reporting views
  • sub_ipeds_{name}_vw: The goal of this view is to take the the results of sub_ipeds_{name} and join in the Directory Information details from the HDYYYY files. These views should match the ipeds_{name}_vw IPEDS reporting views.

For a more detailed description of each new view created, please refer to the “HelioCampus IPEDS Views” and “IPEDS Raw Tables” tabs in the Insight Data Contents available from the Insight Resources page.
