As mentioned during the previous two monthly Insight community calls on 11/13 and 12/11/2020, some columns will be dropped from the following datasets effective 1/31/2021:
• Applications
• Career
• Completions Student
• Credit Awarded
• Enrollments
• Financial Aid Award Detail Full
• Term
• Tests
The columns being dropped do not appear in the Student Data Mart (SDM) data dictionary, and were added early on to facilitate dashboard development. Since then, other columns have been added to SDM or used to develop the dashboards. Additionally, some IPEDS directory information was added to some SDM datasets that will be dropped; that will continue to be available in the IPEDS datasets. The complete list of columns to be dropped appears below***.
In December, anyone impacted with content on Tableau Server, or in a campus’ Redshift sandbox schema that use any of these datasets, or anyone identifying automation or processes that rely on any of these objects, was notified directly. Anyone interested or responding was provided testing datasets or a testing schema environment with campus versions of the new SDM objects for assessing the impact of these changes, and planning the updates required by 1/31/2021.
