Insight has a rich set of IPEDS data for you to use for benchmarking, analysis and visualization. Here are some updates, and resources:
- Recently several objects were loaded and updated, including these files: C2019_A, C2019_B, C2019_C, C2019DEP, EFFY2019, EFIA2019, FLAGS2019, HD2019, IC2019, IC2019_AY, IC2019_PY. And these views: ipeds_completions_ethnicity, ipeds_degrees_program, ipeds_enrollment_12mo, ipeds_enrollment_fte, ipeds_institutions, ipeds_programs_level, plus each of those with _vw added to the end of the name.
- These updates were part of a regular update cycle, the schedule for which is available in the Insight datasets doc* on the “2018-2019 IPEDS Update Schedule” tab.
- All IPEDS files, views and other objects are documented in the datasets doc* on the “HelioCampus IPEDS Views” and “IPEDS Raw Tables” tabs.
- Many are available both in Redshift tables as well as in Tableau extracts, which is documented* on the same tabs.
- Joe and Burke from HelioCampus discussed the update process and demonstrated using these in Tableau during our monthly community call on June 12, 2020. You can find a link to the replay and starting time for that in the June 12 meeting notes*.
*The Insight datasets doc is easily found on the Insight resources page. Click this link and type ‘datasets’ in the search box in the upper right corner, then click the Available Datasets link. To find the meeting notes, type ‘notes’ in that same search box, and click the link to the Agenda and Call Notes. Expand the outline and table of contents on the left side, and click on June 12, 2020. The link to the replay video file is at the top of the call notes for that day. Scroll down until you locate the IPEDS topic and its starting time.
