UNC Code Section 457(b) Plan

The University of North Carolina offers a voluntary 457(b) retirement plan. TIAA is the only vendor approved to manage the UNC retirement plans’ investment products. 457(b) Plan Enrollment

Enrollment Process

Complete the Deferral Agreement form, online on the *UNC Empyrean (COMPASS) platform: UNC Empyrean (COMPASS) platform

Remember, you must submit/save the completed SDA on the Empyrean (COMPASS) platform before any contributions can be accepted into your account.

*Part-time and temporary employees should reach out to their HR Benefits Office for a paper SDA form, as well as those who wish to make a one-time deduction.
