About

The 2022 Behavioral Health Convening will be held virtually on Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, March 31, 2022 and will be an opportunity for institutions to develop ideas, share best practices, and discuss the mechanisms and steps needed to nurture a healthy and resilient student body. We are excited to announce that in addition to partnering with the North Carolina Community Colleges, we have also partnered with NCICU to expand this important dialogue across the state.

WHO: UNC System, NC Community Colleges, and NCICU Faculty and Staff
WHEN: Wednesday, March 30 & Thursday, March 31, 2022, 9 am – 4 pm
WHERE: Virtually – via Zoom

Convening Goals
  • Engage in conversations about innovative and evidence-informed programming that supports student mental health and wellness.
  • Evaluate the scope of student mental health challenges on campuses and better understand current trends and issues within student mental health, including but not limited to eating concerns, social media, suicidality, and substance use.
  • Discover and compare ideas to promote increased education and access to mental health services for students.
  • Explore the important relationship among counseling centers, wellness initiatives, and other campus support services with faculty/staff to increase collaboration, communication, and understanding how these efforts work in tandem to address the overall health and wellness of students.
  • Explore ways to enhance a campus culture of care and inclusivity to combat faculty/staff burnout with an emphasis on campus wide self-care and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Togetherall

Togetherall is a unique peer to peer community-based platform. The community empowers individuals to seek and provide support in a safe and inclusive environment. To support the ever-growing demand for student mental health services, Togetherall’s population approach provides a 24/7 support that students can access anywhere, anytime, with licensed clinicians to keep users safe and work collaboratively when needed.

Togetherall recently welcomed new members from three schools within the University of North Carolina System. Since January 2022, students from Fayetteville State University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University all have access to the support community.

Togetherall works with universities and colleges globally to expand the reach of existing student mental health services to the student population in an effective and affordable manner. The community is clinically managed and designed to support and improve mental health across a spectrum of needs including exploration, maintenance, early intervention, and even crisis referrals when needed.

Through anonymous, peer-to-peer interactions, Togetherall compliments existing campus mental health services and extends reach to impact thousands of students, including those who may not otherwise seek traditional support. In fact, nearly 46% of members identify as BIPOC and 35% say Togetherall is their only source of support. And in a recent member survey, 93% self-report an improvement in their wellbeing and 70% feel less isolated after joining.
